EPRI Disconnect Monitor

Disconnect Switch Sensor: This task is developing and demonstrating a RF sensor to measure the temperature and inclination of disconnect switches. Sensors are installed on the arm and stationary “jaw side” which has been shown to increase the reliability of identifying high-risk connections. Algorithms are being refined to enable automatic alarming, and demonstrations are increasing experience. Further work is required on sensors from the high-voltage environment.
